Best Dressed List: The Best Looks On African Celebs And Style Stars Last Week
As life gradually returns to a semi-normal state, celebrities and style stars across Africa – who happen to also be some of the best fashion influencers on Instagram – are finding more reasons to dress up, step out and make a fashion statement before the curfew kicks in wherever they are. African celebrities and top fashion influencers are consistently using their style on Instagram to prove that a global pandemic doesn’t equal an end to doing the things we love––especially if it keeps us going.
Even as we continuously preach the gospel of safety and ask that you observe social distancing rules, we also want to re-emphasize the fact that a fashionable outfit should not only make you look good on the outside but also make you feel confident from the inside out. That confidence is exactly what we can feel from the women on this list.
Last week, some of the most stylish celebrities and style stars in Africa stepped out in a range of amplified looks which they, of course, shared on Instagram. Trust Nigerian celebrities and style stars to nail their looks.
Nigerian fashion designer, Og Okonkwo, showed off an avant garde robe dress that we are practically dying to have in our wardrobe. For the design, she played around with the fabric to give fullness to the robe without losing its fit. Celebrity stylist, Medlin Boss, Mimi Yina, celebrated her birthday with a variety of looks but it was the white long sleeve lace dress with origami detailing on the bodice and a thigh-high slit that definitely stole the show! In South Africa, animal skin and neutrals were the order of the day. Hijabi model and stylist, Thameenah Saint, took things up a notch again as she showed us how to wear double belts and still look as stylish as ever. She finished off her look with the perfect snakeskin beret that was both refreshingly unpredicatable.
The looks shared last week by African celebrities and fashion influencers were nothing short of edgy and glamorous and it’s safe to say that we’re, as usual, living vicariously through them.
